For the 2026 Board of Directors election, the Nominating Committee reviewed the bios of several candidates who expressed interest in serving on the LRC Board. From that group, the Nominating Committee selected four candidates to serve for the 2027-2029 term: Tammy Boudreau, Cynthia Freeman, Joanne Hanscom and Josie Ottman.

Independent Election Management Firm

The Board has hired an independent firm, Elect-US, to validate the petitions and conduct the election. Elect-US was selected from among several firms used by different AKC breed clubs. They are also experienced with labor union and HOA elections. Elect-US has more than 20 years’ experience in managing elections.

Elect-US will:

  • Verify that all signatures on petitions represent members in good standing.
  • Produce and send ballots to all members.
  • Implement both electronic and paper processes to ensure secure and secret balloting.
  • Receive and tally the votes.
  • Produce certified results.

Timeline

  • September 1, 2026 – 9 AM: Petitions due to Elect-US and should be addressed to Elect-US, 5050 West Stampede Lane, Lincoln, NE 68528
  • September 1, 2026: Ballots sent out to all members in good standing.
  • September 28, 2026 – 9 AM: Deadline for all ballots to be received; USPS mailed ballots must be returned in the business reply envelope provided.
  • October 1, 2026: Results announced at the Annual Member Meeting to be held at the conclusion of the Banquet at the National in Tenino, Washington. (The meeting will start no earlier than 8:00 PM.)
