This competition is held for the Top 20 Conformation Labrador Retrievers in conjunction with the Labrador Retriever Club National Specialty. Rankings and eligibility will be determined by statistics based on the AKC Awards online report using Breed Standings from the calendar year preceding the National Specialty. The judging panel will be comprised of a Sporting Group judge, a Handler judge and a Breeder judge.

The purpose of this event is to encourage the showing of Labrador Retrievers in conformation classes and to provide an educational experience for judges, exhibitors, breeders, and fanciers. It will provide a celebration of those Labradors with the most outstanding records. It will also provide incentive to strive for Labradors that excel in structure, intelligence, type, and soundness.

Dessert stations and cocktails will complement the celebration!

The LRC COMPANION EVENTS INVITATIONAL

This Invitational is a special event offered at the Labrador Retriever Club National Specialty to showcase Labradors that excel in AKC Obedience, Agility, and Rally. The top-ranked Labradors will be invited to compete during the National Specialty. Rankings and eligibility will be determined by statistics based on the AKC Awards online report using standings from the calendar year preceding the National Specialty. The invitee with the highest combined score in each class will be designated as the Invitational Champion for that class. 

Twenty of the top competitors in Obedience (Novice, Open, & Utility), Rally (Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Excellent, & Master), and Agility (Novice, Novice Preferred, Open, Open Preferred, Excellent, Excellent Preferred, Master, & Master Preferred) will be invited to participate in this exciting special attraction. Each dog will need to be entered in both trials for Obedience (excluding the Novice only trial) or Rally, or both the Standard class & Jumpers With Weaves class for both Agility trials. Their Invitational placement will be based on the combined scores of the two classes entered with the winner in each class being acknowledged as 2024 LRC Novice, Open, or Utility Obedience Invitational Champion, or 2024 LRC Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Excellent, or Master Rally Invitational Champion, or 2024 LRC Novice, Novice Preferred, Open, Open Preferred, Excellent, Excellent Preferred, Master, or Master Preferred Agility Invitational Champion. All Invitational competitors will receive a rosette showing their 2024 Invitational participation for the class.
