Supported Entry

The Labrador Retriever Club believes that supported entries at conformation events should be the choice and responsibility of the local clubs. Any local club wishing to hold such an event should get in touch with their local All-Breed clubs.

A local club should offer to provide trophies for the main prizes such as Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex, Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and High in Trial. If desired, Reserve Winners could also be offered. LRC, Inc. traditional pewter trophies cannot be offered and any engraving should reflect the logos of the local clubs, not the LRC, Inc.

The All-Breed club selects the judges, but if contacted far enough in advance would likely give consideration to a list of judges provided by the local specialty club. All-Breed clubs will generally be happy to provide rosettes instead of flat ribbons for supported entries.

There will be only two exceptions to this policy:
•  LRC will support the entry, if requested, when the local club making the request is at the sanctioned stage and wishes to do a supported entry for experience or . . .
When the all-breed club is too far away from any local club that could offer assistance.

Any such request should come from a club, not an individual or group of individuals, and all trophies should be provided locally, not by LRC. Judges of these supported events must be approved by LRC. The local club is responsible for any AKC fees and for requesting the standard letter of permission from their LRC Time Zone Chair.
